Macho Springs Solar Project was completed in 2014. This photovoltaic project has the capacity to generate 50 MW of electricity — enough to power over 12,431 New Mexico homes.
Several large retailers in New Mexico have gone solar including Eubank Landfill Solar Array, Intel and U.S. Foods. Eubank Landfill Solar Array has installed one of the largest such installations with 2 MW of solar capacity at their location in Albuquerque.
At 10 MW, Rio Communities Solar Energy Center in Rio Communities is among the largest solar installations in New Mexico. Completed in 2012, this photovoltaic project has enough electric capacity to power more than 2,486 homes.
